My freshman year ('96) we had homeroom and whacky wednesdays. Most everyone had one or two teachers as their homeroom teachers. I must say we had THE best homeroom teachers: Dr Froning and Mr Randy Marsh. The two of them would always just joke around with us everyday because they werent really responsible for teaching us anything. and they would make fun of the morning anouncements and the incorrect grammer. That and Ms. Thrasher's Friday special of "asordid" soups.

so, what the fuck is with this miss tew person (or the fuckhead posing as her) adding all the asfa people to her friends list?

oh yeah, she/he is xxxmisstewxxx. core as fuck, huh?

i'm personally enjoying the anonymous comments that are being left about how she is a shit teacher and can't even friend people right (apparently a lot of the people she friended didn't even attend asfa. i checked it out myself, and a LOT of my friends are listed. friends that never went to asfa)

in other asfa news, they want me to spend $50 a head (ooh or $75 a couple) to see some writer guy. what happened to inviting the alumni to events WITHOUT soliciting money. hello, we all pursued the arts, which is why we are all broke.

well, at least we didnt go to rlc.

9:08 pm - nothing better to do on a satuday night

for whatever reason, this random memory from my ASFA days suddenly, myseriously popped into my mind:

In 10th grade I took Spanish from Mrs. Hammer (I always thought it very strange that a native German taught Spanish). During one class she told the class that she did not shave her armpits. She said that the hairs helped hold the deodorant in place all day to keep her from stinkin. I thought she kind of stunk anyway.

with that said, I invite the rest of you to share any other Frau Hammer stories from your ASFA experience.

my dearest emma,

if you do make a much-needed appearance at this year's asfa mexican alumni fiesta play soiree thing, i promise to buy you something heavily intoxicating and fruity, though i can't promise the presence of a little cute umbrella or fruit wedge on a plastic sword. plus, how can you possibly miss out on me wearing something besides a men's hanes v-neck undershirt and semi-dirty (as in sort of smelly, but not visibly dirty) jeans?

hold me to this. seriously.

dear folks attending the alumni party at workplay.
there might be valet parking by avia valet.

I used to work for the guy, and he is a crook.

You will give me your thanks now.

ok, so my wonderful boss decided to let me be off for the asfa alumni fiesta, so it looks like i'll be making an appearance after all. it might be weird, since there is a high probability of my ex being there, being that he is an alumni. then again, the chance of seeing avrilincandenza and getting belligerent and making fun of people is well worth it. plus, i'll have protection....

since i beat the shit out of allen in pool tonight, he now has to accompany me to said fiesta and buy me all the tasty workplay drinks that my little heart desires. i worry for him since my last workplay tab was about 90 dollars. oh well, fair and square....

9-ball is a bitch.

9:41 pm - ALUMNI "PARTY"

I am having much trouble posting this entry. Perhaps it is my poor HTML skills; perhaps it is my tipsy-ness. Anyhoo, I shall try again:

I have just read avrilincandenza's post and I am wondering who all is attending this alumni party. I know that Emma is trying to make an appearance and that is absolutely good enough for me! Anyway, I have just spoken to the alumni of the house himself, and he doesn't seem AT ALL interested in attending. We would have to 1) find someone willing to babysit rugrat for the night, 2) make yet ANOTHER trip to the 'Ham. and 3) shell out $20 (for us both to get in) plus drinks (absolutely absurd) and gas money for the fuel-guzzling Doo-Doo Rocket. Despite my social anxiety regarding the old "concrete wonder," I am actually rather intrigued to meet up with all ye livejournal ASFAites in person again. You will have to work on sleazyd13 yourselves though. He's the boss.

I will also mention this blessed event to Brad J. (c/o '99), Jeremy C. (c/o '99), and Carter D. (c/o '00) because they are the only ASFA folk outside of LJ that I talk to on a regular basis.

8:27 pm - Ehh...just found this.

I thought I would say hello to all the older peoples and ask a question. I am of the class of 2003...and immidiatly after graduating from ASFA I felt tired of education. I went to college for a year anyway, and now I feel completely burnt out. I took fall off from school and have been working my ass off to keep from thinking about anything intellectual. Making decent money though.

Is this a normal post-ASFA experience?

6:56 pm - egg chairs

Anyone remember those egg chairs in the ASFA dorms? For old memory's sake, I looked them up on the internet. They are actually called Pastil chairs. And they cost $1000-$1500. How did ASFA get ahold of expensive chairs? If I knew how much they were worth, I would have stolen one after graduation!

Who wants to begin a UCCF with me? I'm not sure how many U_CFs there are...but I know what the horseshit UNCF is.... United Negro College Fund.
What the fuck.
I want to take this opportunity to say that I am not a racist in any shape or form...I think affirmative action is a good thing, because there are racist bastards in the world still today who would NOT hire somneone based on racial ethnicity.
HOWEVER, the UNCF is total crap.
I, like many people I know, had to fund my own education. This sucked entirely because I got a mixture of need based and scholastic scholarships. Cool. Except for the fact that I still had to pay $20,000 a year on top of my scholarships...
I knew quite a few black people that I went to college with, and I could not tell you one of them that paid for ANY part of their education. None of it. Not a dime? Why? Because they have a year round tan and I don't...

What should any person get fincancial aide based on their heritage? thats crap. Ok- if some old black dude wants to start a scholarship, and make it only available to black people- whatever - thats his own racist bastard choice....
but, however, for the federal government to say that a black person is more deserving of financial aide than my broke white ass is total horseshit.

What about poor, underpriveleged minorites that cant afford school? Well- they can get right in line where I was standing for poor, underpriveleged white people.
I think Need based aide has total merrit. Why should someone born of privelege have a better shot at going to school than one who did not? It just evens the playing fields.
And then there is the scholarship section rewarding those who are studious. Good job, thats cool too.

BUT why should someone just get money- not based on how much they can afford, not based on any scholastic achievement....just based on the fact that they look better in neon colors.

8:26 am - Nati "luv"

we'll see how this works. as it is, i am a computer MORON. all of that Fine Bairnsfather and Hardy (I shiver at the name- nice man- but I have nightmares about him being in close proximity to me and....having....nasty Hardy sweat.....drip.....i cant talk about it!!!) didn't do all that much good afterall... and they spent 2000 bucks for me to go to a graphics convention! Ha! that was a waste of money!

At any rate...I think I am among the other "slow bloomers" of ASFA christmas past.....................
I should not be, but I am, still in school. And I dont even know what i want to be "when i grow up". which might take awhile at the rate i've been going...
Peace out, My hommies....

dude. i'll be returning to the ol' asfa on thursday for the first time in YEARS. see, i didn't want to ever pull a keith gipson and visit asfa like 3874146259 years after graduation. but, the lovely dirty_ratchel (rachel higgins) has an art opening that night from 5-7, so i must show my support and all that jazz.

i wonder what the protocol is for visiting asfa after being gone for almost 7 years.

ps: i totally have that 'crush on you' song stuck in my head. you know, the one where dude's all like 'i know you heard me on the radio' and lil kim goes 'truuuuuue'. help me.

Sorry for being a huge psycho-bitch (as </b></a>sleazyd13userinfo once referred to me in high school shortly after we broke up).
If I was ever a butthole to anyone reading this, I am sincerely sorry.

10:07 pm - random thoughts to keep the community alive.

i wonder what all i need to accomplish in order to get a big fucking picture up of me up on the wall in the lobby. something tells me im nowhere near close. in fact, i wonder if anyone from the infamous class of 1998 will ever be not-fucked-up enough to grace those cold concrete blocks.

also, i can't wait until the next alumni reunion/party/soiree type thing so i can show up with my big lovable smelly ape of a boyfriend and field endless questions as to why i'm not there with scott. we'll pretend to be married just to grease those rusting gossip wheels.

i can't tell if i'm sarcastic or bitchy tonight. probably a bit of both.

in the spirit of keeping all alive here, i'll pose a subject for discussion:
'best/worst item on the asfa lunch menu'

note: i call dibs on the weird international rice with raisins. FOUL.

my dear emma kindly insisted that i post about the yearbook ad riddled with 4 years worth of inside jokes.

just to be a nasty little swot, i've even scanned it. yes, i'm a nerd. a nerd with a nice shiny new scanner.

disclaimer: i am looking at these for possibly the first time since i GOT this yearbook. gut reactions aplomb.

let the nostalgia begin!Collapse )

i wonder if asfa still does that gross international week with the cafeteria food. all international week meant was that we would get rice with raisins or some shit in it.
